Church announcement COIVD 19
March 17, 2020
On Monday, March 16, 2020, President Donald Trump released guidelines that called for people to avoid gathering in groups of more than 10 people for 15 days. A few hours later, Gov. J.B. Pritzker banned crowd sizes in Illinois to under 50.
With this mandate from the government, and in the spirit of cooperation in order to prevent many in our church, community, and homes from potentially coming in contact with COIVD 19, the leadership at FBCL has decided to not gather on Sunday mornings as a congregation until April 5, 2020. At that time, we will reevaluate for further directions.
To ensure our people have pastoral care we will do the following:
- We will broadcast Sunday Service on Facebook Live. If you have a Facebook account, you can go to our Facebook page to see a live broadcast of our church service. We will begin at 10:10am on Sunday mornings (March 22 & March 29). Sonny will lead with a few songs. Then pastor Jason will deliver the message. Finally, we will close with prayer. If you do not have a Facebook account, we encourage you to listen to WSMI Radio (Am 1540 & FM 106.9) at 10:10am Sunday mornings.
- There will be bi-weekly check-ins for all church members. Sonny, Michael, and pastor Jason have divided up the church directory and will be making phone calls to check-in. You can also expect to receive text messages and emails of encouragement throughout the duration of our quarantine.
- If you have any concerns, cares, or immediate needs, you are encouraged to call Pastor Jason (502-396-9471), Sonny Barrett (337-354-5344), or Michael Koen (618-322-2194). We will make ourselves available to serve you in any capacity we are able.
